2013 - FIRST Ultimate Ascent

The Game

The 2013 season was our most challenging yet with Ultimate Ascent. This game was themed off of the popular Wham-O flying disc. The goal of this game was to shoot flying discs into goals on one side of the field while attempting to prevent the other team from doing so on the other side. The game started out with a 15 second autonomous period where no humans controlled the robot at runtime, and points scored were doubled. In the next two minutes, robots were operated remotely. During these two minutes, the robots could climb a pyramid to earn additional points as long as they remained on the pyramid stably.

Our Team

Our team consists of 51 students and an abundance awesome of mentors.

Check out our 2013 scrapbook.

Our Robot

This robot was a master Ultimate player. Shooting four shots in two seconds, our robot had the capability of depositing load after load into the highest three point goal with 95%+ accuracy. Our robot featured a climber that could reach the lowest tier, a floor collector, and a shooter which also loaded from the driver station. Named after the game, our robot was dubbed the Ultimate Scent.
